Now there are many different types of dumbbells on the market these days, after all the health and fitness niche is a multi billion pound industry. Some of the types of dumbbells include hexagonal, circular, plastic, rubber, alloy and adjustable dumbbells. Today I am going to be discussing the role of adjustable dumbbells and whether or not if they are any good.
There are also many different types of adjustable dumbbells from different manufacturers but for the sake of this article I will simply be discussing them as a whole without brands coming into the mix.
The Good
The good thing about adjustable dumbbells is that they allow the user to see a progression in their workouts. For example a person may start off on one weight and the next week add another and then another and so on. This allows the user to become more confident and progress in their training. Adjustable dumbbells can also be useful for when you're working out different muscle groups. Some muscles will be stronger than others so you will have to use a heavier weight while others will be weaker where you can use less weight.
The Bad
Now this is just my opinion and i'm sure people will disagree with me but adjustable dumbbells are simply too much bother. What I mean by this is that you constantly have to fiddle between weight settings and so forth. Whereas if you have a fixed weight you can simply walk over to it, pick it up and start weight training.
In my opinion adjustable dumbbells are a bit of a fad and I would prefer fixed weight dumbbells any day of the week. I have created a list of my favourite dumbbells for sale which can be seen by clicking the link below.
